Meal Prep Gone Bad

This is a reprint of a Face Book post from the beginning of our trip.  I had no idea Tim had taken a photo of the mess, so here it is in all of it’s gory glory!

I don’t set up my outside grilling kitchen unless it is warm out and we are camped for several days in one spot, so I did fill the freezer with frozen entree from Schwan’s (which I highly recommend).  Last night was pasta with meatballs in red sauce. Yum!  Or it might have been had we been able to eat it.  The large entrees are frozen in cardboard containers and instructions for microwave call for heat, stir, heat, stir, sit.  By the time the ”sit” was over and I reached into the microwave to remove it the container folded in the middle from the weight and the contents fell to the floor after hitting the stove as well as my hands and feet.  HOT!The food splashed from the front seats to the fireplace, the bulk on the new rug. Did I mention cheese? And it was hot? It took us an hour to clean it up and I am still finding tomato sauce in some very unusual places.

One of the first things I learned about traveling in an RV is that if you cannot roll with the punches, don’t do it!  It is a regular heavy weight free-for-all!
